CX5 High Security Lock Cylinders

Tefco Locksmith now offers the CX5 high secuity locking system.  If you have an application requiring more security than standard residential or industrial locking solutions, consider the advantages of the CX5 solution.

1. KEY CONTROL - a Key that can be duplicated anywhere and by anyone is an invitation to have copies of the key made. The keyblanks for the CX5 system are protected by a design patent and are only available through a locksmith that has contracted to obtain it.  Further, the contract limits key duplication to the locksmith company that originally provided the key. The key is stamped with the identification of the locksmith company who provided the key. Key duplication requires either a signed Identification card or a signed log on file with the locksmith who origianlly provided the key. Photo identification and a signature matching the file must be provided whenever a key is duplicated. These severe practices are maintained to make sure no unauthorized duplicates are created. You can then be assured that once a key is collected from a user, no other keys have been made using that key without your knowledge.

2. Pick Resistance - The lock contains special top pins called spool pins which create false shear lines to make the lock more difficult to pick. It also has a secondary locking mechanism called a side bar which must also be unlocked by the key before the key will turn. The sidebar milling in the key which activates the sidebar pins is defined by the contract the locksmith has with the supplier to restrict unauthorized key duplication.  This secondary locking mechanism also makes bumping of the lock more difficult.

3. Drill Resistance - The standard CX5 lock contains 2 anti-drill pins protecting the locking pins and sidebar. These pins make drilling even a standard CX5 locks more difficult than normal industrial locks. A UL437 option is available that has up to 11 drill-resistant pins strategically placed to discourage drilling of the lock. The UL437 also has stainless steel top and bottom pins which increases the hardness of the lock.
