When moving into a new house, a new buyer can
never be sure that all of the keys have been turned over to
them.
- Did the previous owner keep one?
- Did they give a key to a neighbor, relative,
or friend?
- Could they have given a key to a private
maid or trusted handyman?
- Does it still have the construction master
key working? It is surprising how many locks have never been
rekeyed to eliminate the construction master key.
A good first start to a more secure home is
to make sure you have possession of all of the keys. The only way
to ensure this is to either have the locks rekeyed or replace all
of the locks.
If you are satisfied with the quality of the
old locks and would like to rekey them, a qualified locksmith can
help. We can change the pin combination of the old locks to a new
key so that you can be sure the previous owner has not left a stray
key around so that someone could use it to enter your new
home.
If you wish to replace the locks with a
higher quality lock-set, a qualified locksmith can help there, too.
Your home is the biggest investment you are likely to make. Doesn’t
it make to make sure it is secure?
